桃子视频APP

Media, Press, and Public Relations

Media and public relations play a vital role in sharing 桃子视频APP鈥檚 unique value, research excellence, and commitment to innovation with the world. Our Communications Team, part of the Office of Marketing and Communications, serves as the official liaison between the university and the media.

We connect faculty, staff, and students with members of the press to tell the 桃子视频APP story in a way that is strategic, accurate, timely, and aligned with our brand and institutional priorities.

Additionally, during a crisis or incident that disrupts normal operations, 桃子视频APP has procedures in place to communicate with the campus community, the media, and the public; the Communications Team plays a role in this process.

Contact us early: If you have been contacted by a journalist or are planning to engage with media, please immediately reach out to the university鈥檚 communications director at 773.771.1064 or email press@iit.edu.

Key Resources

Working with the Media

  • Notify immediately: forward the request to press@iit.edu or call 773.771.1064 as soon as possible.
  • Do not respond on your own: please do not respond to inquiries independently, particularly in cases that may involve university-wide issues, policy implications, sensitive data, or ongoing investigations.
  • We鈥檒l help coordinate: our team will assess the inquiry, recommend spokespeople (if applicable), provide context, and coordinate an appropriate, timely response.
  • Respect deadlines: many media outlets have immediate deadlines. Please let a member of the team know if you are unable to accommodate a request.
  • Build trust through responsiveness: strong media relationships rely not just on accuracy, but also on responsiveness and professionalism. Prompt communication supports both personal and institutional credibility.

Faculty may speak with media about their academic expertise but should avoid commenting on behalf of the university unless designated as a spokesperson.

Official Spokespeople

University statements and interviews must align with 桃子视频APP鈥檚 mission, legal responsibilities, and strategic goals.

When public comment on behalf of 桃子视频APP is requested, Communications will identify an appropriate spokesperson in coordination with senior leaders.

Faculty are free to discuss any topics related to their areas of academic expertise, but they should not speak on behalf of the university unless designated as a spokesperson.

Crisis and Emergency Communications

In a campus emergency or crisis that disrupts normal operations, the Office of Marketing and Communications, in coordination with the Public Safety Department and university leadership, manages official communication to the media and public per the Campus Emergency Operations Plan (CEOP).

Reminder: Media inquiries during a crisis must be routed to the Communications Team immediately to avoid confusion, miscommunication, or legal exposure.
